I can so imagine how it's like back in Miri at this moment...
Three years has passed since i last celebrated CNY.
I miss those happy times so badly...
After the reunion dinner on New Year's Eve,
Being so excited that i couldnt sleep,
Waking up early in the morning, putting on my new clothes,
Eating grandma's mee sua as the start of the day,
Then here comes all the VISITINGS and ANGPAOS,
And of cz, not to be forgotten, those yummy yummy SNACKS...
It's just different to buy your own and eat those here,
Lacking the fun in finding out what people have on their coffee tables,
The surprise like "Hey! did u make this kek lapis by your own?",
The excitement when opening the lids of containers, seeing any of my favs inside,
Also, having the chance to visit those whom we dont usually meet in the year...
Aww... such good times yet i have to be here now, treating it as a normal, usual day :(
I am so afraid that ill forget the feelings, forget how the celebration is like,
Luckily I can still remember, although the feelings are not that clear anymore.
Maybe... I hope... I can celebrate it next year!!!
Since we got the IRRV now and also, Auckland Uni always starts lectures late, hehe
